Lt. Col. Les Kosem and Um Savuth were ethnic Chams (a muslim ethnic group that used to rule modern day Vietnam) and officers in the Cambodian Army. They became leaders in the FULRO movement when the Champa Libertion Front joined the movement. Unfortunatley, they took a hardline approach on the issues and refused to participate in any negotiations.
