How can I make a donation to the Y-Bler Buonya Scholarship Fund?

1.  Online using a credit or debit card at the Community Foundation's secure website. Please go to http://www.cfgg.org/page25066.cfm to make this online donation.  A confirmation letter will be sent to your address should you require documentation for tax purposes. 

2.  Mail a check to the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro to the address below.

Are donations limited to cash or check contributions?

No. Donors may give an variety of other assets,  such as socks, bonds, investment funds, and even real estate.  Please contact the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro (www.cfgg.org) for more detailed information. 

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes, donations to the Y-Bler Buonya Scholarship Fund are tax deductible.  Please contact the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro for more information and to request the necessary forms.

Does anyone make a profit off the scholarship?

Absolutely not.  All donations go directly to the scholarship fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro.  No one else recieves a dime of money.   In fact, those who volunteer to help with the scholarship fund use their own money and are not reimbursed for expenses.

How can I help?

The best way to make the Y-Bler Buonya Scholarship a reality is to raise awareness. Tell as many people as you can about the scholarship and try to get everyone to donate as much as they can spare.

What is the fundraising goal?

The fundraising goal is $50,000, which will make the scholarship a permanent endowment.

When will the scholarship be awarded?

The scholarship will first be awarded once the goal of $50,000 has been raised, which will create a permanent endowment.

Who is eligible to receive the scholarship?

Anyone is eligible to apply for the scholarship, however, Montagnards and those of Montagnard decent are strongly encouraged to apply.

What can the scholarship be used for?

The scholarship can be used for any educational expenses at an institution of higher learning. The scholarship is not limited to tuition, but can be used to pay for any educational expense (i.e. room, board, books, supplies, etc...)

 

What will be the selection criteria for the scholarship?

Various factors will be taken into consideration when awarding the scholarship, such as past academic performance, extracurricular activities, involvement in Montagnard issues, likelihood of future success in helping the Montagnard people.

Who will select the scholarship recipient?

A committee at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro will select the most deserving recipient of the Y-Bler Buonya Scholarship.
